Donal A' Phumpa

Today, I have returned to the source of all that is wonderful and good: Mick O'Brien & Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh's recordings.
So I learned this little reel from their latest release, Deadly Buzz, which I have oftentimes recommended here at NTAD.  If you haven't purchased this album please go do so.  You'll thank me later.

  1. I'm so happy you learned this one! Scott and I play it and for some reason no one else seems to want to learn it. Except we call it The Coalminer, We learned it a few years ago from a recording of a finger style guitar player. I forget who it was but it was a nice recording. :)

OK, we really need to play some tunes soon!

  2. That's so cool you play this tune. My semester is basically over so I have a bit more time! When's the next session (besides the one tonight that I missed... I think)? When are you free?

  3. No worries, you didn't miss a session last night. We have Monday night sessions every 2nd and 4th Monday. So that means the next Monday night session will be this coming Monday, the 12th. However, I'll only be there for the first 25 minutes. Darn band practice!

I have a big concert coming up on the 15th but after that I'm free and clear. Wanna play some tunes sometime after that?
